i go to a lot of shows. its one of the few things i truly enjoy doing. being in korea sucked. i missed many a show. i timed my midtour and ga08 just so we (read: i) could see suburband legends. and i managed to keep my warped tour streak in tact and even saw rancid. heh...yeah...so far this year ive seen:
1. the take action tour (cute is what we aim for, meg & dia, every avenue)
2. less than jake with the expendables, the flatliners
3. three part melody tour (plain white t's, danger radio)
4. alkaline trio with saves the day
5. pepper with the supervillains
6. (m)orning tour (mae, barcelona, person l, tokyo)
7. earth, wind, and fire with chicago
8. warped tour 2009 (houston)
9. rise against with rancid, billy talent
10. warped tour 2009 (virginia beach)
11. foreigner
12. clipse with the cool kids
technically the first show i ever went to was janet jacksons rhythm nation tour in 1989. didnt really do anything for me. the show i really consider being my first was the kottonmouth kings in 2002 at the house of blues in myrtle beach. crowd surfing. stage diving. awesome atmosphere. awesome band. thats what did it for me. few weeks later i was back to see goldfinger. not long later. the crystal method. and the trend continues.
when i look at the money and time invested into some of these shows its pretty crazy. getting to warped tour at 5am? making the singer of the matches laugh on stage? being on stage for an aiden show? the dude jumping from the balcony during rise against? good memories. and well worth the price of admission. so when ive got no place to go, yeah...ill go to the punk rawk show.
